ファッションにいつも興味を持っていた僕は、確か初めてのベルサーチを購入したのは僕がまだ大学生の頃。今も記憶に新しい、色々なカラーのローマ法王がプリントされたブラックのシルクシャツ。初めて着て行った日も鮮明に覚えているなぁ。レクチャーがあった日、みんなは僕のシャツを見て驚愕。とても派手だったし、きっと皆は何てリアクションしたらいいのか分からなかったんだね。笑 自分で言うのもなんだけど、とってもかっこいいシャツなんだ。Versaceだし、やりすぎなんてことはなかったよ。
Being the outrageous fashionista that I was (still am… whatever…), I actually had my first Versace piece of clothing when I was still in university. I still remember it now, it was black silk shirt, with multicolored Popes print all over it. It definitely wasn’t for the shy. The first time I wore it to a lecture, there was an audible gasp because all my classmates didn’t know what to think. But I knew I looked fabulous and that when it comes to Versace, it can never be considered “too much”.
それからというもの、実際に僕のベルサーチへのオブセッションは変わっていない。今も着ているシルクシャツ、アイコニックなメデューサプリントはもうお約束。そんなベルサーチが銀座にVersace Homeをオープン!! もちろんいつものおきまりのプリントはもちろん、僕の大好きなレオパードが至る所に!!
Well, things haven’t changed at all. Anyone who has seen inside my wardrobe knows that I am still obsessed by Versace – mostly the vintage silk shirts with the amazing Italianate motifs or anything with an iconic Medusa. And lord knows I love a spot of leopard anywhere. So I jumped at the chance of visiting the opening of the new Ginza Versace Home boutique last week.
言うまでもなく僕はまるで天国にいるかのようだった。できることならすべてを買い占めて、Versaceに囲まれた生活を送りたいよ。
Needless to say I was in heaven. If I could, I would like to live in a world surrounded by gold gilt pillows slips and amber glass ashtrays; wearing silk lined dressing gowns to breakfast and eating on the finest ornate Medusa-printed China.
朝食もきっと楽しくなるね!!

ブティックで見つけたとっても綺麗なターコイズの花瓶。これはもう僕のWish Listの仲間入り!!
When I was in the boutique, I actually had a beautiful love affair with an immaculate turquoise vase with a gorgeous gold leaf neck that lasted longer than some of my relationships.
もうどんな風にアパートをデコレートするかは皆の想像通り。たくさんのメデューサに囲まれた僕は、目が合ってきっと石になってしまうんだ。そんな生活を夢みさせてくれるとっても素敵なストアだったから皆も是非足を運んで見てほしいな。
I can see my future clearly. It contains a household filled with serpentine Medusas and I will die a beautiful death by staring them in the eyes with affection.
