数週間前にとあるファッションストーリーの撮影でパリへ。なんとたまたま僕が泊まっていたアパート内にあのJohn Gallianoも住んでいるという(!) Fornasettiの食器に囲まれたこの僕の部屋、朝食をFornasettiのプレートで食べるなんてまさに天国の様だったよ。まるで常に見つめられている様な素敵な食器や小物たちはまさに芸術品、ワンダーランドにでもいる様な気分だ。
I was just in Paris a few weeks back styling some fashion shoots, and was staying in an apartment just above John Galliano which was packed with Fornasetti products. For me, eating breakfast eggs off Fornasetti plates is the ultimate in chic, so this apartment to me was heaven. everywhere, abstract eyes looked out at me, it was like wonderland.
パリに到着してすぐ、毎回パリを楽しくしてくれる僕の姉妹の様な存在のAntoniaと一緒にPalais RoyalにあるKitsunéカフェへ。今現在僕の頭の中は東京での新居の事でグルグルしてるんだ。Antoniaはそんな僕にぴったりな場所へ連れて行ってくれたよ。
Immediately after I arrived in Paris, I headed to the Kitsuné café in the Palais Royal for a coffee with my cutest kitty cat Antonia who always inspires me and brings me joy. With my head currently in renovation mode, she knew exactly where to take me to blow my mind.
Antoniaと僕はいつも以心伝心。何も言わなくても常にお互いの事をよくわかっている。そんな彼女が連れて行ってくれたLouvreのそばで行われていたFornasettiの展示会。さっきも話した様に、このプリントたちは本当に芸術品。僕の新しい新居にどうかなって考え出した途端、いろいろなアイデアが再度頭の中をグルグル… このプレートたちを部屋に飾ったらどうだろうかなんてね。Fornasettiはイタリアの家庭用品ブランド。さらにこのブランドの魅力に引き込まれていく始末…
Our minds are always on the same level, and without me having to say anything, she took me to the Louvre nearby, where there was a Fornasetti exhibition. After wandering through the majestic halls staring at such incredible prints, it dawned on me that I have an unusual obsession with wallpaper – Am I crazy??? Fornasetti is the Italian homewares company behind those fabulous face plates which adorn my walls at home. Every major milestone in my life, I like to buy a Fornasetti plate to mark it, so I can look back and remember.
とってもインスパイアされる展示会だった。とくにこの雲のプリントの壁紙。僕はなぜか壁紙には特にこだわりがあって、こんな壁紙なんてどうだろうか???
その展示会のあとに向かった先はMaraisにあるショップMerciへ。ここでアンティークの天井をプリントした壁紙に出会ってしまったんだ。３Dにも見えるこの壁紙、まさに僕の好み。インクレディブル!!!
Afterwards, I headed to the cult store Merci in the Marais, where I fell in love all over again with their exclusive wallpaper designs, based on antique tin print ceilings. The prints are so convincing, they look almost 3D, and I love their application on walls, ceilings… Incredible!
