2014年11月6日(木)から全世界で展開されるH&MとALEXANDER WANGのコラボレーション。そのローンチに先駆けてNYで行われたファッションショーとお買い物パーティーに参加した。Mondrian Soho Hotelから真っ黒にラッピングされたバスで会場へ。
話題のコラボレーションの御披露目に皆テンション高め。バスに乗り込むや否や「Welcome to NY!」と叫ぶ女性。ホテルから一緒に向かう時点で「あなたもwelcomeされる側では？」という冷静にツッコんではいけない。夜は楽しむ為にあるのだ。
バスに揺られて到着したのはマンハッタンの最北端、ブロンクスに近いポイントで、こういうチャンスが無いと絶対に行かない 陸上トラックがあるホール。ショーはこのトラックで行われた。オフィシャルのYouTubeでも一部収録されているが、かなりヤバめのショートフィルムで始まり、トランポリンを用いたパフォーマンスからファッションショーに突入。
兎に角ショーがカッコよくて驚いた。モデルのクオリティは高く、言うまでも無く商品は相当良い。H&Mの歴代のコラボレーションの中でもトップクラス。加えて（このスポーツに全く興味の無いボクが）スポーツ的エンタテイメントとして魅了されて「ジム行こうかな」と思ったのだから相当なものだと思う。
ショーのフィナーレではアレキサンダー・ワンがランウェイに用いられていたトラックを爆走！お祭りムードを一気に高めて『お買い物パーティー』に突入した。今回の商品が先行で購入できるチャンスということで、参加者がテンション高く会場になだれ込む。
ボクはとりあえずお目当ての『ボクシンググローブ』と『バックパック』をゲット。その後はゆっくり物色を続けて合計7点を汗だくで購入した。
ここだけの話だが7点購入に至るまでに合計3回・計30分程度の休憩を挟んだ。そう、ジジイなのだ。ジョージなんてテンコ盛りの荷物抱えてサクサク歩いて行ったのに。この休憩が祟ってMissy Elliotのライブを半分くらい見逃してしまった号泣。このLIVEも素晴らしかった。ここでもワン様がステージに登場して爆踊！これぞParty！NYが好きだー！
7点購入して計10万円弱。最近購入したALEXANDER WANGのブーツだけで9万円だったのに滝汗！「おばちゃん、めちゃめちゃ安いやんか！」と小籔千豊が叫ぶ声が聞こえるようだ。
そしてどうやら人気の商品はレザー仕様のバックパック。ボクの休憩が多かったのもあるが『お買い物パーティー』の間に合計6.4回「それどこにあったの？」と聞かれた。端数の.4は一人えらいテンションで聞いてきた方がいたので勝手に1.4に換算した結果です、ごめんなさい。
The moment we’ve been waiting for is almost here. On Nov.6th 2014 is the time to meet the stellar items; the collaboration of ALEXANDER WANG x H&M. I was super lucky to join a celeb-packed runway show & shopping party before they are officially hitting the worldwide stores.
Ridding on a cool wrapping black bus to the party; of course everybody is already hyper for the much-anticipated unveiling party! A woman was screaming, “Welcome to NY!” Ooookay, thank you for welcoming us, but since you stay at the Mondrian Soho Hotel, you are not a New Yorker either! But who cares anyway? It’s a party night!
It was held at Fort Washington Avenue Armory, an indoor track and field space; it’s in a way-way-way up north of Manhattan. The show began with cool short movie; as you can see on official YouTube, and then follow with energetic-acrobatic-performance as bouncing off trampolines.
The show was fierce with gorgeous models, like Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss. I can truly say the collection is a must-have; one of the best H&M collaborations. The sports-inspired items made me feel like “ have-to-work-out” even I’m not a “Gym Person”. You can tell how much I was impressed by the show!
Mr. Wang turns to the Running-Wang on end of the show. Thank you for the Running-Wang to give us a full charge for the shopping after runway! Now we are all dying to race into the pop-up store. I’ve got ‘boxing glove’ and ‘ backpack’ first, which were on my shopping list, and kept hunting 7 items total.
My friend George was OK to carry around lots of items, but I had to take three breaks during the shopping because of physical degeneracy…Yes, I am too old. Too many breaks made me too late to join the fantastic Missy Elliot live show. But I didn’t miss a cool part; Mr. Wang hit the stage and turned to the Dancing- Wang! Yes, that’s the killer party! That’s NY!
I’ve recently paid $900 bucks for a pair of Alexander Wang boots, but alas, I bought 7 items for less than $1,000! A leather backpack seems to be the most popular item, people asked me ‘Where did you get it?’ many times, actually 6.4 times to be exact. Oh you may wonder about 0.4… I add extra 0.4 points for a lady asking questions very aggressively.
