去年の夏、H3OチームでHiroのとっても素敵なビーチハウスへ。うちの会社がディストリビューターをしてるビューティフルなブランド、フランス発のCallaのイメージショットの撮影に行ったんだ。Calla本人のお気に入りのフォトグラファーVava Ribeiroを起用し、海辺でドリーミーな作品に仕上げたかったCallaにはとってはこのロケーションは好条件。僕の友人のとってもクールなJulie Rocheをモデルに起用しいざ撮影へ。電車に揺られ、タクシーを使って葉山へ!! Woo hoo!!!!
Towards the end of last summer, me and the H3O team headed down to Hiro’s beautiful beach house to do a shoot for Calla Hayne’s gorgeous fashion line from Paris, Calla. One of Calla’s favourite photographers Vava Ribeiro was in town, and she wanted to work with him to create dreamy, seaside images for her next collection. I had been wanting to work with my good friend Julie Roche for a while, so she was cast as the model. Julie to me has that kind of cool, detached look which I love. And apart from that, she is a fabulous girl! So we got the train and then cab to Hayama! Woo hoo!

この日はとっても暑くて、撮影はうまくいったけど僕たちはもう汗だく。Vavaは自然光で撮影をしたかったから、余計な照明がなくて良かったよ。照明なんてあったらまるでオーブンの様に暑くなってただろうね(笑) Callaがアウトフィットをパリから送ってくれ、Hiroが撮影現場をセッティング。でもその前のランチに僕のお手製のパスタをみんなに御馳走したんだ!!!
The day was so hot and overcast, which actually looked amazing in the finished pictures but we were all sweating like crazy. Vava wanted to shoot in the natural light, so thank god there weren’t any lights or it would have been like an oven. Calla had sent down the clothes from Paris, and we set up at Hiro’s beach house. But first, I cooked a big pasta lunch for everyone!

日本の海辺での撮影はちょっと非現実的に写る。ちょっと変わった木の背景に自然光が差して、それはとっても美しい光景に。Julieのポージングもパーフェクト。とってもマジカルな空間が生まれたよ。
Shooting around the Japanese seaside was bound to be a little surreal – the spooky tree shapes and light all came together to portray something really special. The way that the light played with the clothes and Julie gave the shoot a really magical feeling.
