ブログを書くのが久しぶりになっちゃったのは、新しいプロジェクトだったり色々な物を発見したり仕事で忙しい日々を送っていたからなんだ…ごめんね!!!
I’ve been a bit quiet lately because I’ve been so darn busy. There are amazing projects and new discoveries flying all over the place, so I apologize.
広告の撮影を終えて、先週はちょっとしたお休みをもらったんだ。お休みっていってもHong KongでSupermodelme.tvの収録でお仕事もあったんだけど… アジアから集まったモデル達をとあるブランドでスタイリングをしたんだよ。(詳細はちょっとオンエアまで内緒なんだ) Hong Kongでの仕事を終えて、次の目的地はシンガポール!! 大親友のDenise Kellerに会いにね!!!
After shooting numerous big campaigns, which I will share with you soon, last week I took a well-deserved rest and quickly headed to Hong Kong to film an episode of supermodelme.tv – I styled the models from all over Asia in amazing printed dresses by a secret designer (sorry, but I can’t give anything away); and then skipped off to Singapore for some R&R with my best friend in the world Denise Keller.

彼女の家に滞在中、彼女は僕に一つの箱をくれたんだ。その箱は10年前、僕が日本に来る前に彼女にあげたジャンクが沢山入った箱。その中に、僕が1999年に編集長を務めていマガジン“CREAM”を発見。 “CREAM”はアジア発のグローバルマガジンだったんだ。ページをめくるたびに昨日の事の様にあの頃の思い出が蘇ってきたよ。
When I was staying at her place she made me open up a box of my old junk I had left her with 10 years ago when I fled to Japan, and I found all of my old magazines in there from when I was an editor-in-chief of a magazine I created in 1999 called CREAM. CREAM was ahead of its time, the first truly global magazine from Asia, and it brought back so many memories just flicking through the pages.
このマガジンのコンセプトは毎号男のモデルと女のモデルを表紙に起用していたんだ。中ページのモデルはアジア人とウエスタンの両方を起用。何か新しい事をしたくていつも試行錯誤してたな〜。未だに、“CREAM”での編集長の経験はとっても良いものだったし、誇りに思っているよ。
I love that I had the foresight to show a man and a woman on the cover of every issue; and show an Asian and non-Asian model. We sought to break down certain boundaries and create a look that was new. Sometimes it worked, other times … maybe not… but the magazine had the spirit of an experiment, and the excitement of something new.
