My understanding of fashion goes well beyond the realms of simply clothes. To me fashion is about love, joy, art, excellence, uniqueness and innovation. And of course, fabulousness!
The iconic red Martone Cycles bike
前回パリに訪れたとき、僕の友達であるハンサムなブラジル人、Lorenzo Martoneと再会。彼はNew Yorkをベースにしている自転車デザイナー。ブランド名は“Martone Cycling”。新しいコレクションを見せてくれたんだけど、見た瞬間に一目惚れ。日本に広めたいとすぐに思ったんだ。
In Paris last season, I met up with my friend Lorenzo Martone, a handsome Brazilian New Yorker, and he introduced his amazing new Martone Cycling bikes to me. I instantly fell in love and knew i had to introduce them to Japan.

シックな自転車とは少し違う、彼のデザインの良い所は、しっかりとライフスタイルに当てはまる所。ここ最近、自転車に乗る人が増えてきた事はとっても良い事だと思うんだ。ガスが出ないし、とってもエコ。地球にも優しいファッションのアクセサリーとしてとっても確立しているんだ。
These bikes are not only super chic, but they stand for an important lifestyle that I believe in strongly: bikes are urban, efficient, and they produce no carbon gases making them completely environmentally friendly.

乗っていてとっても楽しい自転車でもある。最近レーシングバイクを買ったんだけど、シートがシャープでスキニージーンズが破れちゃったんだ。街で乗っていても、やっぱりそんなに楽しくないんだ。でも彼がデザインするバイクはちょっと違う。色も5色展開。ホワイト、シルバー、ゴールド、レッドにブラック。それにこの自転車のチェーンのレッドは僕のルブタンのソールのカラーにぴったりだろ？
Plus, they are fun to ride! Recently I bought a racing bike and its sharp seat ripped my skinny jeans, and there is no fun to riding it around town…it is too serious and scary! These bikes are different: they are easy to ride, quiet and most importantly come completely colour-coded in 5 colours – white, silver, gold, red and black. And dont you love how the red chain matches the soles of my Louboutins?

ParisはColette、New YorkではSaks、LondonではThe Conran Storeでのローンチを無事終え、日本にやってきたLorenzoと彼のビジネスパートナーであるDavidと3人で東京を彼の自転車でとっても楽しい時間を過ごしたよ!!
And so last week, fresh from the bike launches in Paris (colette), New York (Saks) and London (The Conran Store), Lorenzo, David (his European business partner) and I got on the bikes and hit the streets of Tokyo.
Colour coordination is all the rage!
東京でこの自転車がデビューする日もそんなに遠くないはず!!
Expect to see them in Tokyo very very soon! Maybe cycling is the new fashion?
