このブログは可能なかぎり毎週月曜日に更新するようにしている。我が輩は『デジタルストラテジスト（日本語訳：電脳軍師）』であるからしっかり調査を行って戦略を練りトラフィックが一番取れる時間に更新しているのであーる、とか言いたい所だけど全然違う。月曜に更新したら週刊少年ジャンプに連載している気分になるかな、と思いついただけだ。名付けて週刊少年ジャンプ習慣。真似していいよ。
そして週一の更新でNYの話題が3回も続いている。今回もNYの話題だったら1ヶ月間もNYの話をしていることになる。別に赤坂泰彦よろしくNY好きのブランディングをする気も無いし、何よりもNYネタがそんなに沢山あるかい。ということで今回もNYの話どーん。
実際のところ一度NYを出たのだが、Whitney MuseumでJeff Koonsの個展が始まったので戻ってきた。この辺でボクの私生活のグダグタ感を感じ取って頂けると、初対面でお会いした際にがっかりされることが減りそうで逆にうれしい。しかしボクのグダグタの私生活とは裏腹に、個展は素晴らしかった。
初期の『Three Ball Total Equilibrium Tank（3つのバスケットボールを浮かべた水槽）』から始まり『Michael Jackson and Bubbles（マイケル・ジャクソンとバブルス）』『Balloon Dog（バルーン・ドッグ）』。時系列で見るとJeff Koonsの進化の過程をしっかりと感じ取る事ができる。やはり創作活動というものは、インスピレーションの数だけポコポコ生み出されるわけもなく、ひとつ作品を作り出す過程で自分の中に生まれる差分を転生させる作業にも思える。
加えて、この個展では改めて「造形物」を鑑賞することの良さを実感できた。やはりボク達が日々鑑賞する「アート」は絵画であることの方が多い。もちろん絵画も素晴らしい。とても。一方でひとつの作品から得られる情報量は「造形物」の方が格段に多い。大きさ、素材、表面処理。特にJeff Koonsは金属の塊を、かぶりつきたいくらいフワフワした風船に魅せてしまう魔法使いだけに、それを十二分に思い知らせてくれる。
そして造形物と言えばもちろん美術館自体も立派な「造形物」なんだけど、Whitney Museumはこの展示を以て移転するらしいので建物もじっくり見ておいた方がいいかもしれない。次はHigh LineとHudson Riverの間に出来るらしいので、The Standard High Line NYCで新しいWhitney Museumを愛でながら入浴、なんてこともできるかもしれないですね。

I’ve been creating blog entries about NYC three times in a row. I know I’m going to bore you,being with fourth. I’m not trying to cool New Yorker in Tokyo, and never have more news about NYC. So let’s start the brand-new TOPIC! This is my newest blog entrée that you are dying to read…It’s about NEW YORK CITY! …yes, again.
Actually I was out of NYC once, but flying back here. Only for Jeff Koons exhibition in Whitney Museum. You can tell how inefficient I am besides working time, getting rid of extra expectation about me. Contrary to my inefficient life, what we certain about Jeff Koons and his exhibition is the effectiveness of them.
In Whitney Museum, you’ll have an opportunity to see full scoop of Jeff Koon’s creation. “Three Ball Total Equilibrium Tank” at first, then “Michael Jackson and Bubbles”, also most iconic creation of “Balloon Dog” in the order of time scales. It makes us known the finite difference between one creation and the next. Here is one fact, I think.
It does not guarantee to create the next masterpiece, to get just new separate inspirations in succession, but to know the finite difference between the first image and the final in a process of creation. It’s like “SAMSARA” in Buddhism.
