ファッション界を魅了する着物の世界「Kimono Refashioned」展

サンフランシスコのアジア美術館にて、着物が世界のファッションに与えた影響を紐解く特別展「Kimono Refashioned」が2019年5月5日（日）まで開催中。

およそ30点近くのデザイナーやアーティストたちによる、40点以上のドレスやアクセサリーを展示する本展では、ヴィクトリア朝時代から現代に至るまで、着物が世界に与えた影響力について掘り下げる。

京都服飾文化研究財団が所有するコレクションをメインに、ポール・ポワレやココ・シャネルら20世紀初頭のデザイナーや、川久保玲や三宅一生といった日本人デザイナー、アレキサンダー・マックイーンやトムフォード、イリス・ヴァン・ヘルペンやクリスチャン・ルブタンといったデザイナーたちの作品を幅広く紹介する。

19世紀に西洋を席巻したジャポニズム、現代のファッションにおける着物、そして漫画やアニメといった日本のカルチャーまで、着物が文化的な文脈でいかに世界に受け入れられ、時代とともに再解釈され、新たな表現を生み出してきたかを多角的に多角的に考察する。

さらに、3月7日（現地時間）には、Art＋Fashionをテーマにしたガラパーティが開催。オークションでは、ブランド「TOLIGHT（トライト）」を手掛ける日本人デザイナー青山明生が美術館の所蔵品である江戸時代の陣羽織からインスパイアされ、製作したドレスがお披露目される。

サンフランシスコにあるアジアアートミュージアムでは、現地時間7日に1年の中で1番大きなイベントであるガラが開催されます。そこで行われるオークションにTOLIGHTも参加させていただいております。収蔵品の中からデザイナーが一つテーマを絞り、作品にインスパイアされたデザインのドレスを制作しました。 This is a dress made for Gala of the Asian Art Museum. #asianartmuseum #asianartmuseumsanfrancisco
